There are well documented problems with distortion while trying to rip vinyl with this. The electrical housing is very poor and you basically have to unplug everything in the house in order to keep from picking up electrical interference. I hooked it up to my stereo just to compare the sound with my Technics, and it doesn't hold up. The needle provided is of poor quality.

Nobody from Ion will get back to me about the distortion problem, and if you go to their forum (http://forums.ion-audio.com/forumdisplay.php?f=3), they will not respond to this particular problem, even though Ion members are visible elsewhere.
